ROBOT MOCO
WITH STUDIO HIRE
Our cinema robot can pull off repeatable motion controlled moves time after time, whether at high speed or at a gentler pace. A range of cameras can be mounted or be used as a model mover. Our studio space is large enough to accommodate sizeable productions and it’s all ground floor with private loading bay access and on-site parking.
Utilising a high speed robot can help create breathtaking imagery, that’s difficult, if not impossible without one. High speed moves to graceful fluid moves to stop-frame animation moves are all achievable with our robot.
We can pre-vis and run the move in Maya / Lensmaster or construct moves on-set, depending on the type / complexity of your move.
We’ve been in the business of ‘Visual Engineering’ for years, a term used nowadays to describe the process of utilising many different disciplines and technologies and expertise to create stills and motion imagery. Beyond use of our robot and studio we can provide our visual engineering services to help you produce technically challenging shots, that when combined in a sequence can rival some of the best work out there.
Up to 8 additional axes can be controlled (more if required) to incorporate additional motors for turntables, sliders, pourers, model movers, light movers and more. And that’s on top of mFIZ to computer control focus, iris and zoom motors - all part of the move timeline. Multiple combinations are possible.
Multiple triggers can control others actions too, like pneumatics for pushing, pulling, blowing, sucking, squirting, or give audible cues for actors or start audio playback; the list goes on, and all timed to perfection.
The robot can carry many types of motion camera including stills cameras for when you need repeatable positioning and an automated workflow. Not only cameras, but products and props can be attached too. Think about how if the robot were to move a light precisely around a subject - whether human or otherwise.

FAQs
Do you crew only?
Of course - Hire us as crew to your production or utilise our own content creation skills to assist with your project.
How long do moves take to program?
Simple moves can be relatively fast, perhaps even within minutes. Complex moves will take longer of course and pre-vis is advised to maximise efficiency on production days. Our software is always improving, so programming times are becoming shorter.
How easy is it to move the robot?
Very easy! We designed and built our own base for the robot to sit on. It’s incredibly stable and moving it requires only the turn of a handle to raise and lower the rollers via hydraulics. You can see how we did this here.
What are the robot’s spec’s?
It can reach around 2.1m in an arc around the base and up to 3.22m high - however, actual reach and height is dependent on where the subject is placed in relation to the base.
It can carry 19.2kg and has a repeatability accuracy of 0.04mm, ideal for multi-pass.
Movement can be super fast for high speed filming or super slow.
Arri dovetail and other camera mounts if required, plus a chuck for models and different plates for attaching different objects. If we don’t have it, we can make it.
Cameras can be underslung, side mounted and barrel mounted for that endless roll shot!
What can be attached to the robot?
A variety of cameras and different lenses. Props, products, lights too. Some limitations will apply so please ask for our opinion on this.
Is it safe?
We believe so and we go to great lengths to ensure everybody is in a safe environment. Robots are used for film work around the world. We maintain full control of the robot during it’s use and safety always comes first.
Can I view and contribute remotely on shoot days?
Yes, we can provide a camera feed and a studio view.
